Small town pt deux/why do I bother

This is off topic, but as for the continuing joys of small town life, heading
out this am on a 600 mile journey and discover the Bug's wiper is dead, no
prob, to Canadian Tire, get the best they have and it works fine as long as
the car is still. Gotta hit the dealer hwne I get where I'm going.

Scirocco content. Went for a slow short ride to remember why I have put so
much money into the silver headache, still with the dead clutch, I know,
should have left it home. So the voltmeter starts acting up, check the belt,
everything looks fine, then the gas guage sinks to E followed by the MFA going
blank, lots of sputtering (you're thinking I'm out of gas, right? WRONG) So
now I have a dead clutch and alternator. Both less than a year , probably only
2-3000 kms old. Going on vacation, the BAD CAR is covered with a sheet.
But it knows I still love it. But it may soon fall to car #2 designation, at
least the Beetle runs (diesels always do, right Drew?). Going out to burn some
oil, see ya in a week or so. Cathy
