Re: How can I make my manifold look cool?



This worked well for me, and it can be done by the do-it-your-selfers out
there.

First, I'd like to point out that whatever you plan to do to your intake,
you should plan to do to your valve cover as well. Just to make them fit in
together.

I started by dropping my intake off at a local machine shop. For about $5
they should let you dunk your parts in their solvent tank and pick them up
the next day. If needed after that, or instead of, you can hit the pieces in
your garage with a wire wheel to clean it up real nice.

Then go out and buy some Dupli-Color brand hi-temp ceramic paint. I prefer
the flat finish colors, but go with what ever you like. I masked off the
parts of the intake and valve cover that I didn't want painted and put a few
coats on. Killer stuff, no sign of flaking or peeling over a year later.

Then I got a sanding block and sand paper and polished the top of the intake
and the ridges of the valve cover. You start with about 1000, then 1500 then
2000, and you can use polish after that if you want.
