RE: Wheel protection...was: how is this setup

Another preventative measure is to wax the wheels after cleaning them.

Since I got the RS's mounted up, couple weeks ago, I have had to clean them
a couple times because of the Metalmasters and the crossdrilled disc's. Not
a fun job at all.
(took me twice as long to clean the BBS's as it did to clean the car).

Last weekend I embarked on cleaning/waxing and sealing the wheels.
(did this on the Ronal R-10's and they still look brand new and are much
easier to clean/wax.)

First I used Mothers wax/cleaner
Then........I used Blitz carnuba wax.
Theeeennnnn......I used Klasse to seal them.

Took about 6 hours to do all 4 wheels and every finger on both hands were
numb.
Will this make them easier to clean....damn I hope so.
I agree with Ben here, the BBS's are a nightmare to clean.
If it wasn't for how sweet they look on the car, and how strong they are,
they'd be nightstands right now. :-)

As far as cleaners go, I'd be a little concerned with them "eventually"
damaging the finish. Personally, I just use diltued Mothers soap for washing
the car. I'm just a little paranoid though.

Try the purple cleaner from your local supply store. Used it on my
ahem...
current non-rocco transportation. and it took off allthe brake dust,
oil
and tranny fluid that was all over the car. (blown front main seal,
and
missing tranny pan bolts (tranny now fixed.)) with miniman effort. I
mean
I sprayed it on. used the foaming brush at the car wash and the high
pressure hose there too. Now even my POS (ford/mazda probe) looks
good.
