Chris,

Use all the motormounts from the 1978 and bolt them onto the 16V. If you
don't swap the master cylinder, you will end up having to do something to
keep the brake light switch from hitting the 16V intake boot. Either plug it
up or put on a brass elbow adapter. The 1978 tranny will fit on the 16V, but
the gear ratios on an actual 16V tranny are much better for the engine. To
use the 16V tranny, make sure you have the drive shafts too. They are bigger
and have larger CV joints. Unless you want the status of having 4 wheel disk
brakes, the rear disks aren't worth the upgrade, but the front 10.1 disks
from the 16V are worth it!

Oh, if you're going to put in the 16V master cylinder, you'll have to bring
the brake pedal assembly so you can remount your brake light switch on that.

Other then that, I think it is a drop in upgrade. Good luck. Feel free to
