Possibly the voltage regulator in the dash circuit that regulates the
amount of voltage going to that bulb. back wash means the light comes on
& the charging doesn't.

(Sorry, my Bentley is out in the car.) look over the schematic.

Pre PS- remove a fuse at a time to isolate draining circuits). Test
across each one for current drain, some should have _some_ (clock, etc.).
