Mike, multiple posts dont bother me as much as the abuse of posting.
As you notice, I sent this to the S-list, and only the S-list, which I
try to do instead of sending multiple copies. (Same as my previous
email, only 1 copy sent). Not sure how double posts happen, aside from
getting it to sender & list, but accidents happen. =)

You can have community-like nature without the "I washed my car today
and it was great, thanks for listening", or the "me-too" posts. I have
ICQ, mIRC, and other chat like programs that I will gladly use before
sending an email to 400+ people. I'm not saying emails have to be cut
and dry, but only that you send email if the majority of the people on
the list can benefit. If you want to carry on a conversation, by all
means, please do. Just dont use the list for it. I have a fast
connection (I even host my site from home), but others who are on dialup
have to download close to, if not, 100+ emails from the list a day. The
time they spent waiting, waiting, to hopefully get something valuable
and in the end they delete all but a few of the posts. I am willing to
be most of those people would rather get 25 valuable emails, than 100+
conversational emails. But then again, I have been wrong before... =)
