I don't know what kind of water pressure you have where you live... But
the fuel system pressures are in  the neighbourhood of 75 to 80 psi, and
the pump, unregulated, is capable of making over 100 psi easy.  Band
clamps are best as they don't distort or cut the hose the way that gear
clamps do.

When splicing into your fuel line, it is best to use reinforced neoprene
line that is designed for fuel injected systems, and rated for 100psi.
You don't want any fuel leaks, especially anywhere near the engine (or
the rain tray for that matter.)
