Your oil was sloshing around in the pan and not concentrating for the oil
pickup tube to get it into the oil pump.  Your engine was essentially
starved for oil, thus the higher oil temps.  Plus alot of high revving with
just the rad fan takes a LONG time to cool down the oil.  If you really like
farting around like that, I'd suggest you get a sport windage tray.
