That sounds like my Toyota truck when it blew a rod.  (I didn't reassemble 
the oil pump right I think, no other reason I could see except for the 
occasional rod knock!).  That did have 210k miles on it, and was already past 
junkyard material so no big loss.  It ran quite well on 3 cyl. however... I 
hope this is not the case for you.
