RE: Let there be light



Well if you get euro lights, it is strongly recommended to relay them for 2
reasons, (1) you are not using the full power of the 55/60w bulbs because of
the wiring being so small (14 gauges) and (2) because of the size of the
wiring and the way the light system is designed you can burnout your
headlight switch after prolonged use.

Now that said, let it be known that I did install euro lights on my 85 and
for 4 months used it without relaying the lights, BUT I could feel the heat
on my dash coming from the headlight switch. the relaying is easy to
perform, and only takes about 2 hrs of work. and if you are interested in

Other options I have seen was to change the sealed beams you have and find
the same fit style US lights with H4/H3 setup in them, but again these will
more than recommend getting a relay system done to them as this setup uses
the same kind of bulbs has the euros do.

what's up with these European (Eurolan?) headlights I
see posted from time to time? Are they legal in the US?
