one less scirocco (or: in the hunt for an '85 black graphic metallic)

  on the way to sign a contract for a house that i'm interested in, we
stopped and got pizza. after we left there we went on what was to be the
last two hunder yards of my '85's life. whilst coming up to an
intersection (having a green light, mind you) the jeep cherokee coming
the other way decided to turn left in front of my. ended up hitting her
(yes, HER!!!) right between the wheels. i was only doing about 30mph,
but due to the high center of gravity of the other vehicle and my cool
wedge design i managed to flip her over on her side (imagine battle-bots
on a grand scale). needless to say, my bumper was just below her rocker
panel and everything above the bumper is crushed in about a foot. my '85
now looks like an accordian. a witness claims that my lights weren't on,
hoever the street was well lit and something had to be on for my dash
lights to be on. at any rate, SHE managed to see me. somehow the driver
of the cherokee didn't. alas, no more '85. best car i had considering
the price i paid for it. now i need another one. my life has a gaping
hole right now. pretty much stock 8v with a sunroof. thankfully no one
as hurt. i know i'm going to be sore tomorrow (can feel it now), but
seat belts do save lives (at least tonight). let me know if anyone needs
anything. i'm grabbing a number of things, but i'm sure there'll be a
lot that i miss. i'd just like for it to live on somehow. thanx for the
shoulder.
