driving in the usa , was: poor drivers

Canadian Drivers are more aware of weather conditions than most us drivers
for sure, we lower our speed and give more distnace between cars when
weather (rain/hail/snow/fog) conditions are less than favorable.

Now that said. In nice weather, we are fast drivers none the less, and in
Quebec particularly, turn signals are optional when changing lanes, you get
used to it, and always keep an eye on the other cars while driving
(defensive driving are basic training for drivers in canada and obligatory
to acquire a driver's license (ie: driving schools) unlike most us cities
that just give out driving license to 15 year old because they ask for it)
there lies the true problem.

get a program nation wide required to goto driving school and impose a 3
demerit point system for first year on all new drivers, like it is set in
canada, and you will see a lot more conciensious drivers on the roads.

In France they have a 90 KPH Max speed, No hwy driving, and 90 Days system
for all ew drivers with new license to get them to learn, and their cars
must have a ( 90 ) tag on their cars to identify new drivers for all to
notice and pay attention to them.

I beleive (I could be wrong) but germany has mandatory driving schools
before driving license is granted, and low demerit point system for first
year as well...

In Dallas, big trucks are commong, most rednecks have 1/2 or 1 ton pick ups
and drive 70-90MPH in any weather conditions. have rain, usually mean 2-20
car pile up on highways, they leave 0 distance between cars. agressive
driving is one thing, but in texas it is rather ludicrous the way most
drivers ride the roads.

my 2 cents worth (and its American cents so it worth at least 1$ canadian
Now..)
