I've only driven through there once and as I was
passing through got stuck in a 1 1/2 hour traffic jam
because of two major accidents, one was with a bus.
Then to top it off a rubber-necker almost slammed into
us making a lane change to avoid the mess, then as we
were clearing the last of the accidents we almost got
hit by a dude merging onto the highway. We were very
happy to escape with our lives.

We can't slam New Mexico too much though, I have
another story of a stretch of highway in Arizona that
had me scared shitless, even though I didn't even come
close to having an accident. It all started when my
brother and I left the Grand Canyon at nite going east
bound then south through Apache territory(no shit). As
we drove from very tiny un-lit town to very tiny
un-lit town we passed, and this is no exaggeration,
probably 250+ little white crosses on the sides of the
road for about 50 miles. We were so damn happy when we
finally made it to the Interstate, we thought for sure
we would wind up having two of our own little crosses
on the side of the road. I can only assume that the
Indians are driving into town to drink, then not
making it back home after they're finished. There was
one corner that had at least 40 crosses in that one
spot, my brother and I joked "damn must of been a bus
flip", the joke didn't help our sinking feeling.

Later...
