Hood cable Q, or I wanna install hood pins

Well, you have to push down on both sides of my hood
to get it to pop up.

Since I really don't want to deal with this, how do I
disengage the locking portions of the stock hood?

I'm just going to install hood pins instead of running
a new cable.  Way too much of a PITA to deal with.
