CV fun away from home...

Well now, what would a nice relaxing trip to the folks house without a car
problem be? A pain in the butt!

No clicking/noise prior to breaking, but my left outer cv joint decided to
explode about 30 miles outside Las Cruces NM (about 200 miles from my
house). Okay, so about half way here the car started to shudder a bit, like
an unbalanced tire, but no other signs. Being that it was on Saturday, after
12 noon (why does everything in small towns close at noon?), I was only able
to find a cv half shaft at NAPA. I installed the new shaft today (sunday)
and everything seems fine. But has anyone ever had problems with NAPA
half-shafts?

Oh, and the CV bolt tool... HAH! I found one at Checker! How's that for
lucky. I thought for sure I was going to have to call John in EP to see if
he had one I could borrow.

Maybe one day I'll make it down to El Paso John.

Just ranting... Check your CV's!
