Jeff,

What Allyn is saying is correct you usally can do it by hand, but don't
(safety is the issue). To put em on you have to take the old ones off first
these need to be compressed, have you ever seen a strut plate shoot across a
shop? I have and its not fun, and scary than shit. Even ane aged spring can
carry the potential energy when being released to do damage. Rent the spring
compressor for a half a day and go for, or if your like me order on from
Harbor freight they have a nice one on sale for $39 (more tools oh ya).
