RE: [tech] pedal assembly [non rocc]



Unfortunetely that collar/tube/guide is welded to the frame that holds the
clutch and brake pedals.  And that frame is held to the firewall with the
the bolts that also hold the mount for the brake booster.  So to get the
pedal cluster off you have to remove the brake booster.

When this collar broke on my MkI I ended up using some large washers on the
firewall side of the clutch cable to provide the end of the cable something
to hold onto......it lasted like that for a year till I added the 16v pedal
cluster and booster.
