Re: bad cv joint symptoms



I would look at the tie rods, steering rack, control arm mounts and upper strut bearing mount.  The CV joint is cannot cause a significant change in steering geometry.  It goes through the center of the bearing carrier and cannot put any side loads on the steering.  Only if one of the above parts shift will you get a "pull".  The ripped boot is coincidental and should be changed.
