Re: Upgrading to Rear Disc Brakes

Grab the brakes off a 16v scirocco. I don't know if you can grab them off an A2 gti.

>From a scirocco you should grab the following (if you want to do it right).

Rear calipers and carriers
spindles
dust plate
emergency brake lines
brake booster
master cylinder
proportioning valves
Rear brake lines -total of 4
Pedal cluster and brake light switch - you could always grab the switch and rig a mount for the switch instead of using the pedal cluster.

Howdy Folks,

Ok I'm pretty damn happy right now with my car. So I
figured its time to skin some knuckles and spend some
money.

I want to get rid of the rear drum brakes (there in
bad shape and instead of fixing them...)

What models of VW's can I liberate rear disc
brakes/axles from?

Does anyone have a 'tech site' or link that will help
me out?

If I'm crazy and buy all the parts new what would I
need?

I'm just looking to get a list together so I can start
doing this.

Thanks folks!
