The reason I mentioned swapping the tank is because on the carb model cars 
there is no return line. Its my belief that any A1 with the full size spare 
will work . 
If I am wrong we will hear about it . I have personally swapped a rabbit tank 
onto my 78 a while back . Then I installed the same tank on my GTI .
