Re: MK1 question #2

Title: MK1 question #2
Cory,

I've done that swap.  Going from carb to FI.  I kinda regret it now cuz I could have had a unique setup.  As well, the carbed setup has much better low end.

Swapping in the FI isn't that difficult to do BUT it's a PITA!  You gots to swap the gas tank, add all the fuel components as well as redo/add-in all the wiring.

Subject: MK1 question #2

I just realized a '75 MK1 will be carb. rather than fuel injected.

Someone want to give me any idea how difficult it is to throw a complete fuel injection system from a newer car into it? (IE: pull it out of a mk2 CIS system or something).

Is there a benefit of carbs?  Can they be fitted to a 1.8 or even 2L?
