Depending on what you want to use them for they each are great in their
own element.

Ive used both. The Hawks are a good racing pad. Plenty of bite. These
things eat rotors for lunch! (When used in racing applications.) They
also create alot of brake dust, most of which is actually rotor material.
Did I mention that they eat rotors?? :)

On the street they are scary. They suck when cold and even then, take a
couple stops to get them warm enough to be effective. I don't recommend
them for a street use car only application. They are very SCARY cold
pads.

Ferodo's are nearly as good as the Hawks on the track. Ive never had
brake fade with these and they are very easy on rotors. They do tend to
be a little dirty, more so than stock VW pad, much less than the Hawks.

I have Ferodo's on my VW's or will be installing them on my newer
purchased VW's when the time comes.

It just depends on what you plan on doing with the car.
