Sunroof question

I've finally got the transaxle changed on the '86 and everything is fine,
but the sunroof.  It will slide back into the roof, but will not do the pop
up part.  If I remember right you turn the crank the opposite way to pop
up, right?  Well it won't.  Any ideas?
