One thing you have to remember is that the earlier A1s had a resistor wire
from the ignition to the coil.  This means that there would be more voltage
at the ignition switch (power to switch) than there is at the coil.  You
very well may have resistance (corrosion) in you fuse box, and,
unfortuneately, the only way to fix this is to find one without corrosion
(new or used, new ones are expensive though).  Be careful running full power
to the coil if it is an earlier A1 vehicle.  HTH!!!
