Re: Snow tire recommendation?

I have always used studded tires because the "studless" versions weren't
approved as a traction device by ODOT. I knew I would be 3 hours from home
on a really snowy day and one of the Sheriffs would tell me "son I don't
give a rat's ass about your fancy tires, no studs or chains on your car
means you turn around."

Last year, the studless tires were approved as a traction device and they
should give superior traction without sacrificing the handling
characteristics of your car as much.

Besides, there is no reason to tear up the roads for 5 months on the
off-chance that it might be so icy one day in the city that you will need
your 75% worn off studded tires. I keep a 2nd set of wheels and swap them
whenever I drive in the snow and ice.

Beyond that, I'm running Hancook studs on all 4 corners.

Don't even think of using less than 4 traction tires. BTDT.
