My New Project

Well I just bought a tired little 87 16v (My first 16v!) Its got a few
problems the most important is ... I think it may need the notorius Downpipe
fix. Could anyone advise me on identifying if this is the culprit(I just got
it today so all I know so far is it is noisy. I am looking for the
replacement at all the usual suspects and all I see is 16v Scirocco w/o Cat.

Please Advise.
