Jetta's (Not GTi or Scirocco related)

Hi people

I've just picked up a 1983 Mk1 Jetta GL
According to the boot sticker the engine code is FR and the paint code is 
FB5Y - What should thses equate to
The car appears to be on its original engine as i've got most of the history 
and last 5 years MOT which match the 76K reading on the clock.

Do Jetta's have any particular problems i should look for.
Its had the filler neck replaced plus numerous other work bits done and 
everything works (inc the headlamp washers!)

It drives well (albeit a little crashy over bumps) and starts without smoke.
