RE: stripped CV bolts (any ideas)




 Huh? We are talking about already stripped bolts, right? I agree that if
you aren't absolutely sure they are stripped go back & make sure you have
the right size 12pt for them. Of course if they are in fact stripped, it's
not going to do you any good. Then it's hammer time... And since you are
using a great deal of force to basically re-shape the head of the bolt, I'd
go with the allen wrench only because I see them as more "disposable" than
the 12pts. A larger 12pt would work too but they are several times the cost
of an allen wrench. It just comes down to which you'd rather destroy.

Before you go hammering on it you want to make sure that you use a special 
"12 point" wrench on 'em- NOT AN ALLEN. The allen will strip them usually,
