Re: need advice dealing w/insurance co.

Shawn,

Good idea to go to the free legal counselling at yer school. We try our
damnest to do our best and we get help from the seniors. So essentially,
they are highly motivated to do their job although they don't get paid.

You should remember that the accident is not yer fault. I don't know how it
works where you live but....

on the first day of school, someone rear-ended my 84 rabbit. The book value
for this car is something like $500. The total in damages was $1300. Since
it was the other driver's fault, I ended getting the money with no questions
asked. I spoke with one of the insurance profs at school and they basically
said that I shouldn't have a problem since it's not my insurance company
paying for the damages; rather it was the other schmuck!

Now my question to you is, does yer insurance company know who the other
driver is? If that's the case then your insurance company should be
fighting on yer behalf to get the monies owed to you from the driver who is
at fault. If there is no other driver to collect, you have the burden of
proof to show that yer car is more valuable that the book value.

In my case, they had my car appraised and felt that the car was worth
fixing.

HTH and GL
