Bad rod bearing?

Ok, so here's the story.

I'm cruising back from LA up to the Bay Area last weekend and decided to
make good time. So I wind-tunnel behind various large pick-ups and SUV's in
the 90-95 mph range. I do this for about 45 minutes. It is a hot day and oil
temps get up to about 120 C. Water temp is 3/4 to the top. I keep a close
eye on oil pressure and it never got below 45psi.

I stop for dinner and gas, and as I pull in, I notice a slight noise from
the motor. VERY background, didn't think much of it.

Drive the rest of the 150 miles back and when I get home there is a BAD
noise. Directly RPM dependent, like heavy metal things knocking around.

I have since only driven the car once, and that was to pick up my "Team
Scirocco" hat from Randy Block (Bad Ass BTW). He suggested that it could be
a bad rod bearing, as that is similar to (but not as loud) as the noise when
he spun a bearing.

I checked the valve lash, and they are all nice and tight. I also pulled the
oil pan to check for any metal debris in the oil, I found none. From what I
could tell, the cylinder walls looked fine (but it was hard to tell, with
the crank and rods in the way)

So, does anyone have some advice on how to fix it. Plastigauge? Rod bearings
are cheap ($25 a set) Is that for 1 rod or 4 rods? If I replace them should
I break in the motor as if new, or what. Should I do all 4 or just the one
that is bad? Can I do this with the motor in the car?

I want this fixed before ND, so that leaves me less than 2 weeks.

TIA
