Peter was speaking of 8v clutch cables which on not self adjusting. The
one you perchased was a 16v cable right?  It has an adjusting mechanism
built in to automatically adjust the cable as the clutch wears.  The 8v
cables must be adjusted every so often by hand.  If you don't mind that,
you can save money and put a 8v cable on, everyone who has tried it says
it works.
