Re: What's wrong with my 2.0 16V??LONG

Shannon,

You and I practically built the same motor, and I had some problems at
first, too. I even yanked the head off due to some mis-information I got
about torquing the ARP head stud kit.

I really had to mess with the mixture. The car was running very well for the
first 700 miles and then it started pinging and then it would hardly run. I
tested my DPR and then adjusted the mixture. It was a good 2 full turns out.
Why? I have no clue. But I got it adjusted and the car started running
really strong. I can easily pull up to 7000 RPM's and the higher it gets,
the faster the revs go up.

I just got my car smog tested (California) today and it passed! When I
talked with the mechanic he said that it was still running a little lean, so
I think I still have some power that I haven't dialed in. BTW, I set it
fluctuating from 4-6 mA.

I can say for sure that the throttle likes to be rolled into rather then
stomping on it and giving WOT. It doesn't really like anything below 3K or
4K RPM's but over that and it starts flying.

Don't know if this was any help??? Let me know what you find.

Good luck -- Craig Williams
