Rear trans mount - how often do they go bad?

Just curious. It's probably one of the easier things
to fix that I've dealt with lately. I've just seen a
lot of people replacing them lately. I thought it
looked a little off, then when I pulled the steering
gear, I took it off, and it is split in 1/2, and the
bottom bolt is stripped.

And an observation

No matter how many parts you think you have to get the
job done, you never have all you need.
eg-
Doing the tie-rods, bought $$$ parts, needed new
steering gear
Doing the steering gear (bought all new bushings,
brackets) need new rear trans mount and shaft boot
Doing rear brakes, need new stubs & backing plates
Doing stubs and backing plates need new.... well,
we'll find out next week.

sitting on jackstands once again...
