Glad to hear you got your s/r fixed!

Asto the wiper issue. Try taking off the cover that is right behind the 
steering wheel and observe the motion of the wiper squirter position on the 
little contacts near the ignition switch. When you identify the contact 
motion then try using your finger on the contacts instead of the switch. 
Sometime these get nasty funk buildup (technical term) on them and will work 
if you make it contact at the column. If it works use a points file or 
something to clean the contacts. Mine has this problem and thats what I have 
to do. HTH!
