Ian,

I wouldn't think that you'd want anything on a 15 inch rim for your
Scirocco. That usually bumps you out of class since you're using a larger
then stock wheel size, and they are not necessary considering the size and
quality of tires out there.

My suggestion is to go with the Yokohama 032R. If you look at the tread
pattern, they are nothing but a big patch of rubber on the ground and a big
"X" in the middle. Treadwear rating is 60, and it is a street legal tire. I
use 195 60 14's for my Scirocco and you can get them for about $110 each
shipped to you from tirerack.com or Discount Tire Direct.

I've used these on road tracks, and auto cross and I love them. They've
lasted longer then I expected, too. A good tire will not only improve your
handling and acceleration, but it will dramatically improve your braking,
too.

Give them a try. You won't be sorry, especially if you're comparing them to
street tires.
