In the U.S., VW switched from the small wing to the
large wing (16V style) in mid 1984 model year.

In europe, there was an additional wing from the
factory (made by Zender, as was the MK1 "S" spoiler).
This was used on the Scirocco GTX.

But this stuff is just trim, the body style did not
change.
