Ops my fault it is a 98 Jetta TDI.

Now I see no reason why you could not drop a TDI into an A1 or A2 it is the
same lower block section as a 1.9L Diesel it is just the top end that is
different.  And we all know that the 1.9Ls will fit a Scirocco.  There was a
guy in Germany that already did that.  It was the web somewhere.

I am also glad to see the 1.8T going into a Scirocco, since Raffi did it
with an A1 chassis.  The Scirocco is a natural for this conversion.

If I had a spare TDI laying around I may have just shoved it into the
Scirocco, it would be a great combination, torque out the wazoo.  And higher
fuel mileage - that would be fun.  But unfortunately I had to buy one with
the car, and the payments that also came with it. :-( And the only reason I
am giving up on the Scirocco is because of my wife not wanting me to spend
anymore on the car.  Trust me it would have fit my pocket book allot better
to buy a rebuilt tranny and a torque sensing differential.  But my wives
logic well..... you see which one I am keeping.

Ok, you owe an explanation (please). Is that a '98
Jetta TDI or did you drop a TDI into an '88 Jetta?
