Thanks all, my 87 16v stock with no mods topped out at 118-120..in several
scenarios...Like you said, you run out of road fast....Anyway, I thought
there was something wrong with it...Why do they have 140 speedos when they
only go 120 or so...I guess you could make trans mods and hit 140 but
sacrifice low end torque...thanks for the input....The GTI VR6 has  a 160
speedo, I am guessing they top out at 140...I should test drive one and take
the salesman for a hell ride :-)
