I have 2 of Velocity's flywheels which I purchased from Virtual World
Parts at: "www.parts4vws.com.
What you could do to avoid the flywheel core charge is go to a junkyard
and finding a decent core flywheel to send to Mike (If you go this
route.) That way you will still be able to drive your car and when the
new flywheel gets there, you can do it all (or have it done) at the same
time since you will probably be buying a new clutch as well. (Might as
well buy it all from Mike.) Or just buy it all and pay an additional core
charge until you send your flywheel in and get the core charge back.

Or, you can take your flywheel to a machine shop and have them lighten it
for you. I know Brett had his done locally to him and had good results.
Im sure if you shop around that you can find a machine shop that is
willing to lighten it and balance it for you.

The Velocity units are lightened and balanced so this is why I went this
route. I didn't have to hassle with a machine shop I just ordered and got
what I wanted. Badda bing.

The engine revs faster. Lightening the flywheel frees up some of the HP
to use at the wheels instead of using it to turn the crank. It does make
the car quicker and if you have a 16V your low end torque loss will feel
lessened with the lighter flywheel. Overall, its one of the single best
mods ive ever done on my Scirocco or GLi.
