Yep, Ian is right.  Receipts could save you on this one.  Reminds me of a
friend of mine who ran his Integra (no comments from the peanut gallery,
please!) off the side of the cliff (thank God the tree was there to stop him
from going completely over), whilst we were coming back from a snowboarding
excursion.   His insurance company (GEICO) gave him $1,600 for his new
tires/rims, $500 for the ceramic header/full exhaust combo, about $600 for
his Intrax/Bilstein setup....even tho' they tell you they won't offer up
cash for a "modified" car.  Worth more than what the car was alone, I'd say.
Big diff....he had receipts and some elderly gentleman in town ended up
buying the car, so he made out like a bandit.  But then it was a small town
and we were extremely close to a radiation plant (brain damaged insurance
agent).... :)  End of story.
