smog check

What were the specs- HC - CO .  
I would recommend to have it check by a VW specialist and see if 
it is just a mixture adjustment. Water cooled VWs are normally 
pretty clean. Since we are a smog station one thing we do for our 
customers is pre-test the vehicle so a customers car will not be 
throw into the gross polluter area. Some times a simple adjustment 
with the misture is all that is needed. Before replacing any parts 
have the mixture set on a gas analyzer. It may be all that is 
needed.
