You can also try finding a body shop that will do a "closed bid" for you,
meaning they will fix the car for less or the exact amount the insurance
company is willing to total it for.  If you talk nice, some body shops will
do it for you, you come up with the deductible for your collision, and
you'll be fine.  Of course, you might want to have extra money for them to
paint your whole car instead of just the front.
