Re: Oil spraying everywhere!!!!

Bunch of sissies! 4 miles is just a trot for a hard core VW!!!  They don't need oil.  Didn't get the filter off tonight. Got caught late at work. Off tomorrow going to work it over!

It still had oil in the filter, I could have drove another 20 miles!!! ( hope I don't eat these words 8-0 )   We will see tomorrow.

I Jumped in my 87 16v rocc this moring heading to work. Half way there the oil light came on. I could smell oil!  It beeped the next 4 miles to work. When I got there it was just in time.  I looked around and there is no oil on the block really. It seems to be covering my oil pan and possibly my oil filter.  Someone said I may have blown a seal on my oil filter which happens. (or cracked a seem in my oil filter)

Has anyone had this happen to them?

 Any other suggestions?

I am going to replace the filter tomorrow and start there.

Assuming there is still an engine left to fix, 4 miles?  you're insane, it could be that, the oil coorer, or more common one of the sensors on top of the flange.  Another list member just went through this, you must not have read that one.  Put some oil in, start it and see where it comes from.  Good luck
