Re: What Plugs are better?

Hey now!!! I can relate with Chris on this one. Chris and I have never
met, but we both work in VW performance shops and have both done extensive
work on VW motors, electronics, drive train, etc. I know this isn't enough
to make us experts on spark plugs, but Shawn said himself that a plug is a
plug when running around town!! And, even though it may not be "Manly" to
admit, but even with all the modifying talk here on the list we all mostly
just put put around town!!! Sure I get the revs up around 6 on a daily
basis, but that does not mean I am some sort of street racer.

The bosch super plugs are very good plugs. ESPECIALLY when compared to
autolite or champion. I can't even begin to tell you about all the
runability problems I have solved in a VW just by changing out the crap
plugs (autolite, champion, mighty, etc.!). I have run across some bad NGKs
and Nippondensos. There is NO plug out there that is perfect. Sure, they
may be made in china or taiwan now, but where and who do you think make the
NGKs and Nippondensos? Not the Germans and NOT the U.S.

The other subject that I saw here was the German engineering. DON'T forget
who was and is king to engineering! We get ALOT of our ideas from europe
(mostly German) and so does the Japanese. I am not saying that their stuff
is the best all the time, but usually when an american product or japanese
product out lasts or out performs a German product, there is usually a
German behind that product too!! Not always. No I am not a Natzi, but I
have lived in Germany for a few years and their level of quality seems to be
much higher than ours. Just my opinion!!
