The earlier camshafts (Rabbit or Scirocco)(up to about
mid 1980) were more agressive than the later 8V cams.

Up to 1980: .405" lift, 225 deg duration, 
1980 & later: .387" lift, 225 deg duration, 
"G" grind: .423" lift, 225 deg duration,
