Jeez,
Talk about a crappy deal.  Randy is correct though,
definitly gives the rest of us a bad name.  If no one
on the list is in your area, then check around for
shops that specialize in vws. If anyone you know
drives a vdub, ask where they go.feel free to ask
around, usually with 3-4 opinions you can start to
sort the good shops from the bad. Also check with your
local vw parts store, they may have some suggestions
as to who does the best work. Yet another idea is to
check with the BBB before you go to a shop.  It may
seem like a lot of work, but this is your child yes? 
Good mechanics may be hard to find, but trust me,
they're out there...
