Re: [comment] VWoA...WTF?

Hi

I read somewhere that the Lupo doesn't pass your particularly strict
size/crash worthiness tests to well.
I think they must be stricter than in the EU which is a shame because we are
getting a Lupo 16v (125hp) - out now, a Lupo Rsi (180hp) - next year and
supposedly a VR6 4 motion (200+hp).

However and this is the big point they are highly rated on build, quality ,
price , performance etc but over here (UK) they are NOT recognised as having
a good chassis at all and are not supposed to be fun to drive. This hasn't
stopped tham selling by the truckload.

Also they have a sister car in the Seat Arosa which is identical except for
some styling cues which is cheaper but starts more basic. Now I have driven
one of these quite extensively 1.4 75hp(Arouser as we call em) and it was
nippy and quite chuckable but (and i think this could be the reason The US
doesn't get them) you fell very vunerable when anything bigger than a Golf
comes near - I really wouldn't like to crash one AT ANY speed.

Lastly my 83 Jetta handles better and is more fun and its suspension is
tired and my Scirocco (admitedly with totally upgraded suspension) is on a
different planet.

If you want a fun really small car and i'm ashamed to admit this than go a
badger yor Ford dealer for a KA or Fiesta (European spec) cos these little
babies handle real well although they are rather tinny.
I'm currently driving around in a 1.3l Fiesta and its great fun, handles
nicely and can be driven hard and fast easily.

Just my 2p
