There was a ton of lateral accelleration the other night. Snow melted to ice
on the road. Morons spinning tires to move, heated it and it re froze. The
wind was incredible. I saw a Blazer (or something like it) slide sidewas
across the road and into the gutter. Me in my '83 Rabbit GTi with 196,000
miles just climbed the hill and away... Behind me the Blazer spun his tires
trying to get to get out of the gutter.... Never has a VW left me in a snow
bank.
 My '73 Mustang? Cheyenne Wy. in the winter? That thing loved to go side
ways....

Lateral acceleration?  Naah, in the snow there's none of that, that's the
problem.  Just lots of YAW. :)
