all this alternator vs generator stiuff

hey as a few of you all know i'm in charleston sc with the navy working on 
becoming a nuke power et (electronics technician). and finally i really 
beileve that i've learned alot. i now know all the reasons for all this stuff 
with coils/alternators/generators/diodes/transisotrs....you name it. 
well at least now i feel i have a purpose here... to work on vws..... ha ha 
ha!
