Would just like to offer a thought: how often is it actually the alternator
that is bad vs. it being the regulator ($20 from Adirondack)?  I gotta think
that sooooo many alternator swaps are merely bad regulators.  My alt
(Germans still call them generators, which is technically true) has 250k on
it with a few replaced regulators.
